Volunteer-run and NRA-affiliated in the Sierra Nevada foothills near Jackson, California — rifle, pistol, shotgun, and archery, kept up by the members who use them.

Four disciplines, one range

Rifle

Open-air lanes for organized and recreational rifle shooting.

Pistol

Dedicated handgun bays for members and organized matches.

Shotgun

Trap fields hosting the Summer Trap League and public fun shoots.

Archery

A quiet range open the same hours as the rest of the club.

A&A Shooters Youth Program

A youth clay target program for 6th through 12th graders, run by club volunteers.

Summer Trap League

Open to youth, women, and men of all ages and experience levels.

An introductory clinic for women new to firearms and the shooting sports.

Over a century on this ground

1920s

A trout planting club

Members hiked five-gallon milk cans of fingerling trout into Sierra Nevada streams east of Jackson, California.

1938

Incorporated

True Sportsman Club is formally incorporated and organized as a 501(c)7 non-profit, managed by elected officers and an executive committee.

Today

275 members strong

Four ranges, an all-volunteer maintenance crew, and a full calendar of matches, meetings, and youth programs.

Range hours

Members, 7 days a week

Hours: 9am until sunset
Sign-in: at the registers on the handgun and rifle ranges
Policy: first come, first served — please share range time and pick up brass

Business meetings

First Wednesday, monthly

When: 6:00pm at the TSC Clubhouse
Note: except June and July, during the Summer Trap League
